The Every Child Matters Vinyl Inspirational Wristbands help more people participate in Orange Shirt Day on September 30th. Made from stretchable polyester, these gorgeous wristbands feature a unique design by Ts’msyen (Tsimshian) artist Morgan Asoyuf with the words “Every Child Matters” inscribed in the centre. “Children are to be honoured, loved and respected and encouraged to thrive. This design reflects the multi generational impact of Residential Schools and the resilience of those who survived.” – Morgan Asoyuf, Ts’msyen (Tsimshian), Artist behind our Every Child Matters Orange Shirt Day product designs.

Proceeds from Every Child Matters Orange Shirt Day products will be directed to the Native Northwest Reconciliation Fund to support people and families who continue to be impacted by Residential Schools and intergenerational trauma. Its purpose is to advance Reconciliation by funding initiatives that support Indigenous wellness, learning, and culture. In its first year, Every Child Matters Orange Shirt Day proceeds have already funded 250+ scholarships for Indigenous students at 20+ post-secondary institutions, in addition to supporting BC Aboriginal Childcare Society, Urban Native Youth Association, Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC, and more. Thank you for supporting Every Child Matters Orange Shirt Day.

We wear orange shirts to honour the children who did not make it home from Residential Schools, all survivors, and their families.

The Royal Museum Shop is operated by the Royal BC Museum Foundation. All proceeds from the sale of merchandise go directly towards supporting the many fine programs and special events at the Royal BC Museum.
